Hi, this post is about Rays. More specifically i'm trying to focus on Skates, aka the "Echter Rochen" in german.

Lately i've been wanting to learn more about animals again and so today i picked up my huge picture lexicon about animals, flipped through it and then randomly picked one. It was so fun to read about them and i want to research them a bit more, to learn more than just the basics. I'm putting what i've learned here and i'll add citations along my text, so you can read the sources if you want to. ^^

Genereal description

Skates, like all rays, are cartilaginous fish, meaning they have a boneless sceleton made of cartilage
